Forged in Crisis is a short novel (90 pages long) that tells the story of a 50 year old gray iron foundry of agricultural castings. I was inspired to write this novel by my first job out of college,  a gray iron foundry for a fortune 500 Ag/Implement company.  The Chief Engineer tasked us new grads to improve the molding and pouring process and reduce quality defects. Our data collection and analysis were of little value. We had no plan nor knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma tools presented in this book. So, read it, enjoy it, understand it, and apply its's principles to solve YOUR manufacturing problems.
